It's time for the next #nintendo MTG Tournament. The theme this time around is Ravnica: City of Guilds (with an added twist)
So the way Block Constructed works is fairly simple: You construct a deck consisting of 60+ cards just as you normally would in a constructed environment (see other thread for basic rules). However, your cards may only be from the block of choice (in this case, Ravnica block). So, that means that your cards may only come from "Ravnica: City of Guilds", "Guildpact", and "Dissension".
Now for the twist.
The theme behind Ravnica deals with the power struggle between 10 guilds each representing a combination of the colors of mana in the MTG multiverse blah blah blah.
Your job is to choose a guild to represent and construct your deck consisting of cards that only use those two colors of mana. Guild choices will be on a first come, first serve basis starting Wednesday (Jan 20th) at 5 PM PST.
The guilds and their respective keywords are as follows:
The Boros Legion (red/white):
Radiance, An ability word that appears on spells and abilities that affect every creature that shares a color with the target creature
The Golgari Swarm (black/green):
Dredge, Cards with dredge may be returned from the graveyard to their owner's hand, provided that player opts to skip drawing a card and instead puts a number of cards from the top of his or her library into the graveyard.
The Selesnya Conclave (green/white):
Convoke, player playing a spell with Convoke may tap some of his or her creatures to pay part or all of the mana cost. Each creature tapped reduces the cost by one mana of that creature's color, or by one colorless mana.
House Dimir (blue/black):
Transmute, For a certain amount of mana, a card with Transmute that's in a player's hand may be discarded. Doing this allows the player to find a card with the same converted mana cost from that player's library and put it into his or her hand. (also focuses on milling your opponent)
The Orzhov Syndicate (white/black):
Haunt, When a creature or spell with Haunt is put into a graveyard, it is removed from the game Haunting a creature in play, affecting said creature or it's controller.
The Izzet League (blue/red):
Replicate, Spells with Replicate allow a given cost to be paid any number of times, and the spell is copied that many times. Each copy can have a new target.
The Gruul Clans (red/green):
Bloodthirst, Creatures with Bloodthirst gain a boost to their power and toughness, if an opponent took damage before the creature came into play. For example, a 2/3 creature with Bloodthirst 3 would come into play as a 5/6, provided that one opponent was dealt damage that turn
The Azorius Senate (white/blue):
Forecast, (written "Forecast — Cost: Ability") where the cost always includes revealing the card from the player's hand. A player with a card with Forecast in his hand during his upkeep may pay the Forecast cost (revealing the card from his hand until the end of the upkeep) to play its Forecast ability.
The Simic Combine (green/blue): Graft, Creatures come in with a number of +1/+1 counters, and have abilities that pertain to +1/+1 counters. When another creature comes into play you may move those counters on to it.
The Cult of Rakdos (black/red): Hellbent, Cards with Hellbent reward you for having 0 cards in your hand, such as added effects to make a spell stronger.
SOIf you were to choose the Simic Combine, you can only use cards that are Blue and/or Green, with the exception of any split cards from the block that are Blue/Green. You may NOT use cards such as Azorious Guildmage, as it has a color that is not part of the Simic Combine (white).
